A minimalist picture tonight – the impossibly thin sliver of a brand new moon, taken March 29. 2017.

ALSO, just for fun, the picture below captures the Moon, and Mercury (off to the right) in the same frame, about 45 minutes after sunset.

I have been trying to see the comet but it’s been too cloudy to date. Where is it now. Mar 1st

- It’s between the bowl of the Little Dipper and the kink in the handle of the Big Dipper – but not nearly as bright as it was hoped. There’s also a second binocular comet out there. I’ve got some detail pending in a post that I’ll push tomorrow morning.
