We have just entered the fourth season of the year, and it’s one of my favorites!
This is based on the 8-season model I wrote about earlier in the year, where we consider both temperature AND sunlight.
In “Bright Spring”, we enjoy some of the longest days of the year – at my latitude we just topped 14 hours of sun per day, and we’ll stay above that number until early August – but at the same time we’re not yet experiencing the hot temps of summer.
It’s a perfect time to get out and enjoy!

Agreed, Troy. Get out there and enjoy. Peggy and I head out on a 40-mile backpack trip along the Rogue River on Monday. It’s a conditioning trip for my thousand mile backpack trip this summer! –Curt
