Only a few miles from the ocean, freshwater Jordan Pond fills a valley carved by glaciers and hemmed in by mountains on all sides.  The two granite peaks here are the Bubbles (North and South), among the more popular climbs in Acadia National Park because of the view they provide down onto the pond.
